It was developed by Beenox and published by Activision. And then there are always the rich talents of Lily Tomlin, Nicolas Cage, and Leiv Schreiber. The Amazing Spider-Man is an open world action-adventure video game, based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man, and the 2012 film of the same name. If the scenes between Morales and his father (voiced by Bryan Tyree Henry) and uncle (Mahershala Ali) don't make you emotional, you might want to get that checked out.

The most moving parts of the film show us the same tensions of Parker, dealing with the burden of superheroic responsibility while also trying to find his way in life, but radically re-contextualized in a story about a boy of color who has to confront a different set of everyday issues. Morales (Shameik Moore) is an Afro-Latino teenage successor to Peter Parker, who trains him in Spider-Verse. More importantly, it manages to reignite Spider-Man's sense of awe-inspiring playfulness with scenes showing off the slinging skills of Miles Morales and his fellow Spider-Men and Spider-Woman who have met from different dimensions thanks to a rip in the space-time continuum. It's, yes, a cartoon (a notion the movie cleverly nods to and scrambles with its thrilling, bleeding-edge computer animation that reinterprets the language of comic books) from producers Phil Lord and Christopher Miller of The Lego Movie. A fresh take on Spider-Man seemed impossible, until the arrival of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.
